Forgotten belongings in Minatomirai Line

On the same day when the item is left behind, please contact the station staff at the ticket gate.
Please note that we may not be able to respond immediately if it is during a busy period or we are assisting other customers.
As the Minatomirai Line has introduced Tokyu Line's "Forgotten Belongings Search System", you can search for items lost on the Tokyu Line at each station on the Minatomirai Line.

When claiming an item, please bring documents (health insurance card, driver's license, etc.) that can be used to confirm your identity.

Items lost in other railway companies' service areas

The Minatomirai Line connects directly with the Tokyu Toyoko Line, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, Seibu-yurakuchō Line, Ikebukuro Line, and Tobu Tōjō Line. If you have forgotten or lost something in a train, it could be kept by the railway company that was operating the train, so please inquire with them.

    Can my pet ride on the train?

    When traveling with small animals such as dogs, cats, and birds, please observe the following rules.

    • Please put your pet in a crate less than 120cm in total in length, width, and height, so that there is no risk of harm and inconvenience to other passengers. (You may not bring a pet where a part of its body, such as the head or feet, is outside of the crate.)
    • The weight of the container must be less than 10kg.

    Can I bring my bicycle?

    If the total of length, width, and height is within 250cm and the weight is within 30kg, up to two bicycles can be brought in for free, if they do not interfere with the operation of the train.
    However, you may not bring in a bicycle that is more than 2m in length.
    Please ensure to put a folding bicycle in its carrying bag.

    The Minatomirai Line is equipped with elevators from the entrance to the platform in all stations, making it accessible to wheelchair users and elderly.
    In addition, tactile paving and voice guidance are implemented so that the visually impaired can also use the stations with ease.

    We have installed multi-functional washrooms separately for men and women at each station, which are easy to use for people with physical disabilities, small children, and those who need a large space.

    Where are can I make a route change or get a refund for a commuter pass, and what are the fees?

    Prior to the start date of the valid period: Regular commuter fare - ¥220 administrative fee
    After the start date of the valid period (within 7 days): Regular fare - (round trip fare for the commuter pass route x number of days used) - ¥220 administrative fee 
    After the start date of the valid period (after 8 days): The refund amount is proportionate to the unused months minus the administrative fee.

    Usage under one month is rounded up and calculated as one month.
    1 month used: Commuter fare - 1-month commuter fare - ¥220 administrative fee
    2 months used: commuter fare - (1-month commuter fare ×2) - ¥220 administrative fee
    3 months used: Commuter fare - (3-month commuter fare) - ¥220 administrative fee
    4 months used: commuter fare - (3-month commuter fare + 1-month commuter fare + ¥220)
    5 months used: Commuter fare - (3-month commuter fare + 1-month commuter fare x2) - ¥220 administrative fee

    ※If the refund amount is negative, no refund will be given.

    ●To change the valid route of a commuter pass

    First, purchase a new commuter pass for the desired route. Then, request a refund certificate for "route change" for the commuter pass from the station staff.
    We will refund the amount remaining after subtracting an administrative fee and an amount that corresponds to the elapsed days from the effective start date of the commuter pass to the route change request date.

    ※The calculation is done via units of jun. 1 jun = 10 days (rounded up). However, 1 month = 3 jun.

    As the Minatomirai Line and the Tōyoko Line are directly connected at Yokohama Station, you do not need to transfer lines.
    If you are using the Minatomirai Line One-Day Pass on the Minatomirai Line, please present the pass to the station staff when leaving a station belonging to another railway company.

    Please tell me about the Minatomirai Line

    It is a 4.1km railway from Yokohama Station to Motomachi-Chūkagai Station, containing six stations that connect popular business, commercial, and sightseeing areas in Yokohama, such as the Yokohama Station district, Minato Mirai 21 district, Yokohama Chinatown, and the Motomachi and Yamate district.

    With direct connections to the Tokyu Toyoko Line, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, Tobu Tōjō Line, and the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, passengers can travel between central Tokyo, southwestern Saitama Prefecture, and the Yokohama Bay Area without transferring lines.

Safety and Security Measures

Emergency Stop

The Minatomirai Line has a system in place to forcibly stop the train for the safety of passengers, such as when someone falls onto the track from the platform. This can be done by pushing the emergency stop button installed on the platforms. → See each station's information

AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Devices

AED (Automated External Defibrillator) devices are installed in all stations on the Minatomirai Line.

Elevators and escalators

There are elevators and escalators at every station so that passengers can move between the station entrance on the ground floor and the platform.

Stairs

Information is displayed on the handrails in Braille. In addition, there are two height levels of handrails for the convenience of elderly and children.

Multi-functional washrooms

We have installed multi-functional washrooms separately for men and women at each station, which are easy to use for people with physical disabilities, small children, and those who need a large space.

Voice and touch guidance map

We have installed voice and touch guidance maps for the visually impaired at all stations to provide information on the station premises and locations of major facilities.

Automatic ticket gate

At some of the ticket gates, we have installed wider gates which are easier for wheelchair users and passengers with large luggage to pass through.

Wheelchair space

Minatomirai Line's trains have wheelchair spaces in cars 2 and 7. The conditions for using an electric wheelchair with a steering wheel on the Yokohama Minatomirai Railway are defined as follows. → Using an electric wheelchair with a steering wheel

Riding etiquette and precautions

Disaster response

If a large earthquake or fire occurs in the station, please remain calm and follow the guidance of the station staff. If a disaster occurs while the train is running, the train will, in principle, stop at the next station. If the train stops outside the station and is unable to move, the staff will provide directions to the passengers.

Information for women-only cars

The Minatomirai Line has women-only cars during the following hours.

*  Women-only cars can also be used by elementary school students and below, as well as passengers with disabilities and their caregivers.

*  If the schedule becomes disrupted, the operation of women-only cars may be suspended.

Mobile phone etiquette

In order to ensure the comfort of customers who are using medical devices such as cardiac pacemakers, please turn off your mobile phone when you are near the priority seats.
Please set to your phone to silent mode and refrain from making calls.

Bringing in aluminum balloons

If aluminum balloons come in contact with railway wires, etc., a temporary power failure could occur, and the train would cease operation. When bringing an aluminum balloon into the station, please ensure to not let go of the balloon.
If you happen to let it go inside the station, please notify the station staff immediately.
